Thursday 1
THEME: MOVIE NIGHT
*Enjoy a movie for Palm Sunday with some popcorn and snacks!
Sunday 1

Scripture for this Sunday’s lesson reference: Matthew 21:1-11
Start with a question: Ask the kids if they’ve ever been to a celebration. Explain that today, we’ll be learning about a big parade that happened a long time ago when Jesus came into the city of Jerusalem….
DEMONSTRATION: Have teachers ready to have a small skit. Someone play the donkey; someone play Jesus and have a handful of kids participate to be the ones welcoming in Jesus! You will need palm leaves.
Show the excitement that the people had to welcome in the Messiah!!
EXPLANATION: Palm Sunday is the day when Jesus entered Jerusalem, and the people celebrated Him like a king! They laid down palm branches on the ground and shouted 'Hosanna!' as He rode by. This is how they showed their love and excitement for Jesus.
CRAFT: Palm Branch Craft
Materials: o Green construction paper or green tissue paper
o Scissors
o Glue or tape
o Popsicle sticks (optional)
o Markers or crayons (for decoration)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Color the Palm leaf
2. After it is colored, cut it out and glue it onto a green construction paper.
3. Attach to Stick (optional)
4. Have the kids write “Hosanna” on the leaf
5. Discussion: Talk with the kids about the lesson and emphasize on the way Jesus, the Messiah came into the city. Humbling.
Thursday 2
THEME: Last supper
*Get ready to break bread with one another and go over the importance of communion!
Sunday 2

Scripture for this Sunday’s lesson reference: Luke 22:14-20
Start with a question: Ask the class if they’ve ever had a special meal with their family or friends, like a birthday dinner or holiday meal. What made that meal special?
EXPLANATION: Explain that the Last Supper was a special meal that Jesus had with His friends, the disciples, before He was arrested. It was a time to share love, memories, and an important message.
KEY CONCEPTS:
§ Jesus and His disciples gathered for a meal to celebrate the Passover.
§ Jesus broke the bread and shared it
§ Jesus showed His love for His disciples, telling them that His sacrifice would bring them salvation
CRAFT: Bread and cup for the last supper
MATERIALS:
· Paper plates
· Glue sticks
· Scissors
· Brown construction paper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Color the paper of the bread and the cup.
2. Cut them out and glue them onto a construction paper.
3. Discussion: Talk about how Jesus shared bread and wine with His disciples and explained that it represented His body and blood.
Thursday 3
THEME: Backwards Night!
*Wear your clothes backwards & do the class routine backwards also!

Scripture for this Sunday’s lesson reference: Matthew 28:1-10
EXPLANATION: Go over the scriptures with the class. Explain to them how Jesus is no longer in the tomb! That He is alive! That He has resurrected! Now that we believe in this we are meant to go and tell others about Jesus. Also, remind them of how Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit.
KEY CONCEPTS:
· The empty tomb and the resurrection of Jesus.
· The joy and hope that comes from Jesus' victory over death.
· Go and tell others about Jesus.
CRAFT: HE IS RISEN FROM THE TOMB!
MATERIALS:
· Crayons
· Scissors
· Glue sticks
· Construction paper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Color the template
2. Cut it out and glue it on a construction paper
3. Discussion: Talk about how Jesus is no longer dead but how He is alive in Heaven! And how He has given us the Holy Spirit.
Thursday 4
THEME: Egg decorating
*Come in clothes, you don’t mind getting paint on!

Scripture for this Sunday’s lesson reference: John 20:19-31
Easter Review: Ask the children about Easter and what it means to them. What did Jesus do on Easter Sunday? (Focus on the resurrection and the empty tomb)
EXPLANATION: Explain the story of how Jesus appeared to his disciples after His resurrection. Read them John 20:19-31. Emphasize that Jesus came to bring peace to their hearts. Talk about how He showed them His wounds, proving it was truly Him. Also, mention how Thomas had doubts and how Jesus gently helped him believe.
KEY CONCEPTS:
o Jesus brings peace.
o The disciples were fearful, but Jesus showed them His love and power.
o Thomas doubted but later believed when he saw Jesus.
o Jesus blessed those who believe without seeing (John 20:29).
CRAFT: EASTER MINI BOOK
MATERIALS:
· Coloring pencils
· Scissors
· Hole puncher
· Ribbon
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Color all the squares
2. Cut out the squares when done coloring
3. When finished, hole punch the top left corner
4. Put a ribbon in the hole punched area and tie it
5. Discussion: have a review with the class about what they have learned over this month!
