for the littles

Luke 6:48

Build your life on a strong rock.

for the olders

2. God’s Solid Foundation Stands Firm

2 Timothy 2: 19

4. A Wise Person Builds Their House Upon The Rock

Matthew 7: 24-25

VERSE OF THE MONTH: Luke 6:48

Jesus Is My Rock And My Salvation

Lesson Scripture:

Psalm 62: 2

2 - He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

Lesson Focus: JESUS Is Our Strength

(relate message to the kids everyday lives)

- Jesus Is Strong: Like a big unbreakable rock, or a castle with high walls, God keeps us safe from trouble.

When God protects us, the enemy cannot reach us.

- He Saves Us: God helps us when we're in danger or feel helpless.

Jesus did not just save our souls, He also saves us from everyday things and people that negatively affect us.

Most of all, He saves us from ourselves since we are the ones that usually lead ourselves toward the things that hurt us.

- Never Be Shaken: When we trust in God, even when bad things happen, we can have peace because He holds us firmly.

We cannot stop bad things from happening in our lives but we can prepare for when those times come.

And when we get overwhelmed, God will show up for us and fight for us.

(EX: LIKE THE SONG SAYS - “He has the whole world in His hands”

Questions:

- How can we make Jesus our “rock”?

- When do you need God to be your “rock”?

Lesson 2

God’s Solid Foundation Stands Firm

Lesson Scripture:

2 Timothy 2: 19

19 - But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription:

“The LORD knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the LORD must turn away from evil.”

Lesson Focus: Deep Rooted Faith In GOD

(relate message to the kids everyday lives)

A life built on a firm foundation of faith will survive trials and tests!

Ask: Does anyone know what a “Foundation” is or means?

(Foundation: Load-bearing part of a building // An underlying basis or principle

A Foundation is a strong base that holds up whatever you build on it.

Building our Faith on God will hold us up during hard times.

(EX: Noah’s Ark / Daniel in the lions den / David & Goliath

- God Knows You: When we come to GOD for help, He looks at our heart!

If we are not sincere with our faith and only look for Him when we’re in trouble, we will have a hard time getting through our trials.

Some trials will be harder than others (depending on our faith), but He will not let us fall, because He is our rock.

- God Wants To Use You: We must be clean and pure so He can use us for good work.

Our faith is determined by the decisions we make and by the actions we take.

We can only show our faith by “turning away from evil”!

Questions:

- What kind of “trials” might we go through in our lives?

(Ex: moving / changing schools / losing someone we love / losing a pet

- Why does God want to use us?

- Who is the best example we can follow? (Jesus)

(Ex: Love like JESUS

VERSE OF THE MONTH: Luke 6:48

(Paraphrased)

(MIDDLES)

48 - It is like a person building a house on a rock.

It stands firm because it is well built.

(Paraphrased)

(LITTLES)

48 - Build your life on a strong rock.

No Other Foundation

Lesson Scripture:

1 Corinthians 3: 11

11 - For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.

Lesson Focus: Jesus Is The Only Way

(relate message to the kids everyday lives)

(Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. - John 14:6)

- Our Plan: A lot of times we think we can do things on our own and we end up making mistakes and hurting ourselves or others.

Think of a tall tower made out of legos or blocks, what happens if you build it on a wobbly base? It falls!

- The Devil’s Plan: The Devil makes us feel comfortable with doing bad things sometimes (little lies, borrowing and not returning, being dishonest when no one is looking

Every time we try to do things on our own, the enemy attacks us because we are away from God’s protection and most of the time, we don’t even notice it.

The enemy tries to convince us to rely on ourselves only and sometimes convince other people that God isn’t real OR that other God’s exist.

No Other Foundations Will Last Like JESUS Will!

- GOD’s Plan: God has already provided us with the path to Salvation, Joy & Eternal Life.

God sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins.

He has already given us the only solution to all our problems.

Jesus is the only solid base/foundation for our lives.

Everything we build (our actions, faith) must be according to God's plan because he has our best interest.

Questions:

- How can we reach God?

- How can we resist the devils temptations?

- What happens to the things we build on Jesus?

Craft:

Littles

- Have Littles write their names (LARGE in the empty space on the crown) and decorate how they want.

- Teachers help cut out the crowns.

Mid Week Fun day three

You can even have a silly photoshoot 🤪

VERSE OF THE MONTH: Luke 6:48

(Paraphrased)

(MIDDLES)

48 - It is like a person building a house on a rock.

It stands firm because it is well built.

(Paraphrased)

(LITTLES)

48 - Build your life on a strong rock.

A Wise Person Builds Their House

Upon The Rock

Lesson Scripture:

Matthew 7: 24-25

24 - “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

25 - Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.

Lesson Focus: Desire To Be Christ-Like (a.k.a. Christian

(relate message to the kids everyday lives)

- Lean On GOD: When we go through trials we need to stand firm and pray to God to help us get through it.

The person that suffered the most in this world was Jesus Christ and the only one that was able to help Him was our father GOD!

We must follow Jesus’ example and do as He did with His Intentions, Actions and Faith.

- False Foundations: Sometimes things can seem to be going good, even without God’s help, but those foundations are weak and temporary.

Many times when we rely on God it can seem like everything is going wrong instead of being fixed.

This is where we need to have faith because even when it looks bad, if we’re relying on God, we know all things turn to good!

- Be Obedient: If you have Jesus in your heart, we must follow His commandments as best we can.

To be “Christian” is to be as much like Jesus Christ as we possibly can. We are not perfect but we must try our hardest to be what God called us to be.

By following Jesus’ footsteps we can grow spiritually in our faith.

God allows us to grow together with others to help each other and share the Love that He has for us.

Questions:

- How can we grow our faith?

(Ex: serve others / be humble / be part of your church

- What does it mean when we are called “His Church”?

-Do you know what God has called you to do?

- What good thing can you do for God this week?
